This year the Eratosthenes experiment will take place on the 23 September, on the autumnal equinox day. Take part through your school by registering at the website with your school’s longitude and latitude. Once you are registered, you will be put in touch with a school from the same longitude with you by the organising team. Together with your partner school, you will record data, collaborate, calculate the circumference of the Earth and submit the data.
In order to stand a chance to win a scholarship to attend the 2016 Inspiring Science Education Summer Academy in Athens, take a photo of your experiment and submit by 23 October along with your data. A lesson plan for Elementary school and High school is available for the experiment. The lesson follow enquiry-based approach and can be carried online or offline.
